Area Games were Awesome!

Lauren Bergquist right after setting her record in the 100m Freestyle

Many congratulations to all of our swimmers that competed at area games. We had several team records fall during the meet. Lauren Bergquist lead the record breaking charge with two new Junior records in the 100m freestyle 1:55.9 and 50m breaststroke 1:18.3 . Others setting records were William Westman in the Jr. 50m backstroke 49.7, Wayne Buckner in the masters 50m backstroke 51.7 , Amanda Rivas in the Jr. 100m backstroke 106.0 and Jesse Greve open 2:41.6 Everyone else also swam like superstars and I couldn’t help but notice that the seven fastest times in the men’s 100m freestyle were all Man O’ War swimmers. Special thanks to all the coaches that have done such a great job this season and I would also like to thank the Dr. Phillips H.S. Swim team that came and volunteered for the meet and the YMCA aquatic center and all of their staff and volunteers. It has been a great season so far and I will let you know just as soon as I know how many slots we have for State Meet and who has qualified.
